Somebody, please, give me a knife that I may cut off my head.
In other words, I seem to have acquired myself a head cold, and one that is NOT cured, strangely enough, by spoonfuls of spray-whipped-topping.

One of the surprising things that came along with living in sin is my apparent ability to fall into my gender-defined role. Well, that's a little harsh...but i am surprised to find myself happily cooking dinner every night (rounding up).
Back, long ago, when i used to be a my-own-apartment-having-gal (read: up until 2 months ago), Dinners were usually one of these:
A) chocolate cereal
B) packaged soup
C) an entire bag of frozen spinach.
But now, dinner has become a thing, and it's thing that I do, and it's a thing that I do well. It's not that I couldn't cook before, and it's not because I didn't think myself worth it, but it is true that cooking is much more fun if you get kudos at the end. Or a standing ovation, preferably, but whatever.

i'll have a butterscotch sundae, i guess.
OH MY GOD IT POSTED A PHO-TO! victory! so this is me, michael, and james (from left to right) at the christmas market. let's push our luck, why not, and try to add something else.
so, this is a much-belated photo of michael and i back in the days when the sunshine existed. Now, our option is freezing rain. Doesn't it make life easier when there are no choices? What's for dinner? chicken. What colors can i buy that in? black. What will the weather be like FOR THE REST OF ALWAYS? freezing rain.

oh, happy day!
ah! happy! The internet has mysteriously appeared on my computer, and i am going to TAKE IT (this opportunity, i mean, to update my tragically un-updated blog).
so what's new in slovakia-land?
so, we moved! ah, my mr. man and I moved from a sweet little garden flat into a block of panelaky. wait, no, that doesn't tell the full story....we moved from a sweet, tiny, FREEZING FREEZING FREEZING little garden flat into a BLESSEDLY WARM apartment building. This apartment is pure magic. Not only does it have HEAT, but it also came with a balcony, a living room/kitchen, and (of course) the split bathroom common in central europe. You know, where the toilet itself is in its own little room, isolated from the sink and the tub.
By american standards, the apartment is almost comically tiny. But for MM and I, well...we have been rolling around half nekkid and laughing with the warmth and largeosity of it all. So much warmth! So much space! In the middle of the night, i have been needing to reach up and open the window to counteract the HEAT. Truly, this experience has shown me that maaaaaybe we all should live without a necessity, just to appreciate it when you have it.
So, what else.
well, the Christmas Market is back at full speed: ch-ch-check it out:
...............
well, god, that was a lie.
i guess my internet connection is still too feeble (and mild-mannered?) to strategically UPLOAD PHOTOS. Le sigh. Or, as the slovaks would say, "FU"*
* - pronounced fooooo. approximately equivalent to phooey. NOT equivalent to the american "FU"
well, now i am sleepy and cranky at the internet, so i will sign off here. maybe though, JUST MAYBE, i will be able to update more :-)
